I actually got interested in this daily photo idea through Laura Johnson so I'd like to thank her - hopefully she'll unlock her site :) It seemed like an awfully good way to push myself a little harder, since I tend to spend to much time sitting around waiting for inspiration - sometimes you just have to get off your ass and make things happen! My original plan was to start this July 1st, but that slipped, so I'll fill in a few previous shots for good measure. Many of these shots are straight out of the camera, but I do use the GIMP to enhance shots that need cropping, better contrast, etc. that one would normally do in a darkroom. I will generally try to make a point of specifying when I do this for the photos in this gallery.
Well, so much for being daily. I have, at least, taken shots every day, but between clouds, wind, and maybe a little attitude, haven't come up with anything I really liked. This shot is the underside of our deck, where the patterns of light during a brief appearance by the sun caught my eye. I increased the contrast, and darkened it a bit to emphasize the light patterns themselves.
